Schiedammers krijgen een Kunstlogé
Four works of art from our collection will stay at home with various Schiedam residents in the coming months. The museum delivers each work to four people who can enjoy it for a week. Then we take the art to the next place to stay. The participants themselves choose to whom they award the Kunstlogé. By passing the baton - in this case the work of art - the four works by Jaap Nanninga, Piet van Stuivenberg, Sarah van der Pols and Jan Maarten Voskuil stay with a different Schiedammer each time. The Kunstlogé project, from the museum, in your home will run until January 28, 2021. Read more about the Kunstlogés here.

Échte troostkunst (Real comforting art)
The Stedelijk Museum Schiedam reopens with the exhibition Échte troostkunst (real comfort art) from Schiedam: the original works of the comfort art posters that now hang in the city. More than fifty Schiedam artists submitted a photo of an artwork that can provide a moment of comfort. The successful initiative still generates a stream of orders. People hang the poster at their windows at home. You can also see them on billboards in the city.
The exhibition will be held from 1 June to 4 October 2020 in the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam
Troostkunst uit Schiedam
Fifty Schiedam artists have created a work of art to offer comfort to Schiedammers in this time of Corona.
Under the title “Consolation art from Schiedam, for you, mine” the museum made a poster of all entries.
The designs will be on the street in Schiedam from 5 May to 15 June 2020. More information

On behalf of Jingdezhen Sanbao Ceramic Art Institute, Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, PR China, it is my honor to invite you to attend the Sanbao International Ceramic Art Institute and Artist Residency Program in China in 2019. This special program has been created to foster cultural and artistic exchanges and collaborations between international and Chinese artists and educators in the fields of ceramics and arts education. It has been structured to bring you into contact with prominent Chinese artists and art organizations. Your Residency Program at Jingdezhen Sanbao Ceramic Art Institute will be from the end of September 2019 until 20th October 2019.
Jingdezhen, China's oldest and most famous porcelain city, gained world fame with its blue-on-white porcelain, the predecessor of the Delft blue. A few years ago, a flourishing collaboration arose between Jingdezhen and sister city Delft, in which the Delft gallery Terra plays a prominent role. They organize exchange projects and exhibitions.
The Sanbao Ceramic Art Institute is located 8 km from Jingdezhen.
For the October 2019 work period, ten ceramicists from the Netherlands, England, Belgium, Greece and Japan have been invited.
The motivation to also invite a Dutch draughtsman lies in the desire of the Sanbao Ceramic Art Institute to create a cross-over between vulnerable ceramics and other art disciplines.
The work period (29 September - 19 October 2019) will open with an exhibition in the Museum of the
Sanbao Ceramic art Institute, where I will exhibit three recent drawings from the AMAE series.
A drawing from this series will be included in the institute's collection.
The research field in this period will concentrate on the realization of a series of drawings, which as if it were a blueprint: the vulnerable ceramic work process and the Interhuman Constructions during this work process mapping. This theme connects directly with my study trips to Japan in 2015 and 2017, which dealt with respectively Interhuman Constructions and the intersection between tradition and science fiction.
Crowdfunding
The SCAI fasciates the stay on site. To finance this trip I start Crowdfunding and after this trip I will make a series of four different monoprints on A4 format in a limited edition. These works will be executed in blue ink with silk and gold leaf on Chinese rice paper.
For € 50.- each you can register for one or more monoprints.
In this way you can contribute to this research.
If you do not want to participate, you can also forward this mail to someone else.
