We would like to invite you to the opening on Friday 25 August 2023 of the exhibition De Getekende Mens. Man, the inexhaustible source of inspiration. And so also for art. The human being is ourselves and the human being is the other.
How to draw it? It can be done in many ways. It can be done in all ways and at all levels.
In De Getekende Mens we have brought together 5 artists who put the human figure at the center of their art. It is about the imagination of man in a general sense. Figuratively drawn, abstractly approached: we see remarkable differences: the outside versus the inside.

They come into their own in the large space, which has undergone a metamorphosis with the renovation.
The opening is Friday, August 25 at 4:00 PM.

Every year the KunstRAI invites a city, region or country to present their art and culture. For KunstRAI 2022, six galleries from different cities in Japan will show their collection on the 'Focus Japan' square. This presentation is organized in collaboration with YOD Gallery in Osaka, who also participated in the fair in 2020.
KunstRAI 2022 will be officially opened by the Japanese Ambassador to the Netherlands, Z.E. Mr. Horinouchi Hidehisa.

Four works of art from our collection will stay at home with various Schiedam residents in the coming months. The museum delivers each work to four people who can enjoy it for a week. Then we take the art to the next place to stay. The participants themselves choose to whom they award the Kunstlogé. By passing the baton - in this case the work of art - the four works by Jaap Nanninga, Piet van Stuivenberg, Sarah van der Pols and Jan Maarten Voskuil stay with a different Schiedammer each time.
